Craven Posted March 28, 2004 Share Posted March 28, 2004 The Command system generaly works pretty well, but is to possible to formally assign an indpendent unit to a Leader unit? As it is, an independent unit appears to link itself simply to the nearest (adjusted for LOS) leader unit, which naturally can change. I'm pretty sure I've had spotter units happily calling in indirect fire through one Leader unit, only to find the order cancel when another leader unit gets too close with a different (blocked) line of sight to the target area. Being able to lock an independent unit to a leader would also make Group orders easier - as it is when one clicks on a section leader to move his squad as a unit, one has to double check no well position mortar team or machine gunner in the vacinity dosn't leap up too! GreenAsJade Posted March 28, 2004 Share Posted March 28, 2004 You haven't missed something, and the problem you mention happens quite easily if you aren't careful... you have to keep other leaders away from leaders spotting for mortars!
