freddyg
Seems like a friendly group here. I've skimmed through the Anthology of Useful posts and learned a lot. What CMAK scenarios would you recommend for a beginner?
Kingfish
For an infantry style engagement try Wild Bill's "A walk in the sun". For Armor I'd go with "Clash of the Titans" by Berli. Both come with the CD. The next step would be something that has infantry and armor working together, of which "Knifefight at Cecina" is a good bet.
roqf77
also if you want a good example of assualting defences in difficult terrain. try assualt on longstop. its not easy though.
MikeyD
A dozen sweet little scenarios can be downloaded for free if you click on the CMAK companion book at battlefront.com. I believe they recreate the combat actions in the book. I have a paticular fondness for "Armoured Perambulators". The good thing about these scenarios is they're not overdesigned. They're simple little scenarios that are fun to play like the good old CMBO game was. These should be neat starter scenarios (plus they'll get you used to downloading free crap off the net)
imported_Iron_Duke
Head over to The Proving Grounds , there you can find many scenarios. A couple I would recommend, just because I know them so well , would be "Hampshires", "The Patrol", and "The Walking Wounded". There are a lot of good scenarios out there, take a look. Erik Springelkamp
> I have a paticular fondness for "Armoured Perambulators". As a beginner I tried that one, but completely failed as Allied player. How do you approach this thing?
michael_wittman44
The CMAK companion book features 12 scenarios that are small battles that would be good for the beginner which if I'm not mistaken "Armoured Perambulators" is one. I wonder if anybody has fought of doing an Arras scenario using CMAK?
junk2drive
RE: Arras Do a search, many have attempted but IIRC it is too large.
michael_wittman44
Junk2drive, I meant just the brief battle where 16 Matilda tanks and other assorted vehicles attacked German 88's. Its feasible from abook I was reading but I haven't had much time to sit down and actually do it!
freddyg
Thanks for the advice. I tried the bonus scenarios that correspond to the companion book. Several were quite good and simple esp. Armored Perambulators. Any recommendations for similar, perhaps slightly more advanced scenarios?
Kingfish
Try Boots and Tracks. Choose the scenarios that begin with the TCP prefix, those are small to med sized, combined arms battles. Another good site is Der Kessel

There are however, a couple in the works for CMAK. Maybe by the end of the year...
