MikeyD
This may be a dumb question, but do Russian partisans have their own dedicated uniform bmps? I'm no uniform grog, but it would be fun to attempt doing-up peasant costumes in place of uniforms. Anyone got the bmp numbers? Yeh, yeh, I know. Russian partisans were supplied/supported/organized by the Soviet military and uniformed partisans is totally accurate... but it's not half a romantic as valiant Cossack fighters in peasant garb. carlrender
Didn't the Cossacks fight for the Germans? I know that after the war we valiant Brits sent a load of Cossacks (who had fought on the German side) back to Stalin to their certain deaths. A shameful episode in our history. Nevertheless I agree 'peasant garb' would be nice. Partisans do have their own BMPs but don't know what they are.
MikeT
Ask and yea shall receive, to a point! I don't think anyone considered what the implications would be when it was agreed to. MikeT
Sergei
Problem might be that all of them would then be wearing the same rags - which would look odd if all had the same worn-out tunic and the same worn-out pants etc.
MikeyD
Thanks for the numbers! Now to work up the nerve to attempt doing uniforms. Y'know, I wouldn't be offended if one of you uniform mod experts out there were to get a decent peasant-dress mod out before me! As for everybody wearing the same thing, have you been to a local American mall lately? All the guys wearing blue jeans, T-shirts (untucked) and baseball caps on backwards. Talk about a strictly regimented uniform! [ March 18, 2003, 04:37 PM: Message edited by: MikeyD ]
carlrender
I reckon Soviet peasants in blue jeans, T shirts and backward facing baseball caps would look pretty cool.
MikeyD
Y'know, just because it's a WWII mod doesn't mean it needs to be an accurate WWII mod! Maybe I'll do checked flannel shirts with a heavy-metal band T underneath... and Nike sneakers.
Zigwied
Just PLEASE make sure their jeans are pulled up, without underwear showing. We Americans have enough of an international image problem right now
