problems with smoke graphics (Mac Radeon 9000)

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just upgraded my powerbook to a 1Ghz Ti book. The game runs fine but the smoke graphics seem permanently to be on the "compatible" setting. I cannot seem to get realistic smoke like i did before. Is this due to an incompatibility with the Mobility Radeon Card or is there been a workaround or solution to this problem, Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check out the CMAK troubleshooting page - MAc general problems - there is a link for an ATI driver fix. You also might want to search on the forum (tech support) for a more detailed post on the issue by madmatt and feedback from folks who've installed it try using "ati 9000 mac smoke"

Thanks Wicky,

Unfortunately, scrolling down the thread it seems for now that were stuck with fast/compatible smoke. Well, unless something new turned up. I hope and pray it will. I upgraded from a 667 to a 1Ghz Tibook to improve gameplay speed - the smoke trade off was kind of a letdown.

thanks all!

Albert
