Michael Emrys
To be serious for a moment, the vehicle commander has to double as the loader. Michael

Michael Emrys
S'okay. Redwolf's English gets a little funny too at times. Of course, he has the excuse of not being a native speaker. We have some native speakers here who are truly atrocious. Michael

Elmar Bijlsma
Wich leads me to the following, how would they be employ the 3 hul MGs? I mean one for the driver, the radio man takes one of the sides, but the other two crewmembers I would asume would be busy in the turret. Can you imagine this modeled in CMAK? 5 MGs would make it a real killer. Though I expect those side MGs would be be limited like the rear turret MGs are in CMBB.
Stalin's Organ
Fixed MG's are relatively common in tanks - more particularly soviet ones tho. The 2 side MG's in the Stewart were fired by the driver - they were aimed by pointing htewhole vehicle, and were probably quite useful for supressing enemy infantry!!

I think the Stuart may have been the only one to see action though. They apparently weren't all that useful in practice and the space could be put to better use for storing ammo, fuel, radio gear, etc. Michael
SgtMuhammed
Yes, it is quite rediculous to think that any TC would be ok with his driver jerking the tank back and forth to aim his MG. This is in the days before good turret stabilization systems remember.
