Inola
I and my frinds will have a tournament soo. The setup is : June 44, South, 2000 points, combined srms, medium quality, human purchase units. When I start the game, I have 480 points fo German armor, when they start, they have only 400. Division type is mech. How could such a bug apper and who is right? (no casualities and, no hanicap and none balance are set of course)
Hensworth
You mean you, as the German player, get 480 points and your opponent, as the Soviet player, only gets 400 ? Sounds plausible. There's no reason why the points distribution over the various arms would have to be exactly the same for both sides, although I wouldn't like to hazard a guess as to what this difference reflects.
JasonC
What is the battle type and parent unit type for the Russians? The Germans get 480 for parent mech in a meeting engagement. Russians get 508 for a parent rifle division, ME. They can get a much higher total with a mech parent in an ME. Point budgets are set not for balance but to mimic the style of force the different national and branch divisions typically used. Russian mech is very tank heavy - a comparable tank heavy German force comes only with the "armor" force type. Russian infantry combined arms includes plenty of armor, German infantry combined arms includes only a handful of StuG or Marder typically. German mech combined arms means a KG formed around a Panzer grenadier unit, whereas one formed around a panzer unit would have armored force type. Etc.
Inola
I found it! It was "unrestricted" nation for AXIS side. If they chose Germans they will have 480 points, and only 400 if choose unrestricted.
