Battlefront.com
Hans, Thanks for the great link! What the problem was is that you used the IMG (image) like but used a HTML based link. In other words you were linking to a webpage and not an image, which doesn't work. To find out the image's URL you have to either look at the page's HTML code and find it or use "Open Image In New Window" command then post that URL like this: However, for such a treasure trove of images, best to link to the main page and not to individual images. Hans
Thanks Steve, yeah I finally figured it out. Most embarrassing, feel free to delete all those "duds" Thanks
Madmatt
And since I always like to show up Steve in public when I can I have RE-edited the edited messages to link to both galleries and have also renamed the thread to get a little more attention... Hans
There ya go Maddy, taking a perfectly silly funny caption and making it into something useful and educational.....youse guys! Thanks for the help and... Hey I hope when you guys do the next version we'll be able to put photos and active links into our scenario briefings!
-E
These photos are obviously fake. I mean c'mon! Dead german tanks? That never happened! Still don't believe me? Try this photo... Have you EVER seen a convoy spaced this widely in cmbb?! I thought not.
wbs
It's too bad that none of these photos has a caption that tell when and where they were taken. The aerial photo of the convoy under attack is especially cool.

Sergei
Is it Panzerfausts that those Russian grunts are carrying, or is it some sort of demolition "torpedo"? I can't really get it. Looks too long for a Faust.
Hans
I'll guess that they are anti-tank rifles with leather bags over the muzzle to keep dirt out.
ShakyJake
Nice pictures. Here is another worthwhile link to check out, if you would like to see some very cool photographs. They are all taken from the German side, and cover the BoF through to the Eastern front.
Mies
Good work ShakyJake! As a mate here was saying : "Jeez! it's the holy grail of photos!" Mies

I'd bet that is a good guess. It is real easy to jam a long weapon into the ground while moving around with it. Not something you want to do with a 1000 m/sec mv.
Sergei
Ah yes, I thought about ATR's for a second, but then I thought, they wouldn't seriously be carrying them around in those numbers in 1944...
Hans
" target="_blank">http://www.photosammler.de/Foto/Heeresfotos/einsatz/wh3236.jpg"></a> SGTgoody Yep keeping the dirt out is always important. I remember once "digging potatoes" with my M-60 - my sergeant wasn't amused at all. Good find shakyjake hmmmm are all these photo links being kept anywhere or are they being lost?
Hans
Sergei as far as I can tell they used them up to post WW2 however will check.

MasterGoodale
These pictures and the ones at the link are awesome! Some of them you can look into their faces and just feel the mood of war somehow. So gritty.
