Cuban Col
Hello all newbie here, I just discovered the world of Combat Mission and I must say I'm hooked. Been playing the demo for CMBB and I'm trying to convert others. As soon as the tax return comes back, the full versions are mine So here is my newbie questions Maybe Spoliers below. * * * * * * * I was playing the Citadel scenrio in the CMBB demo as the Germans. I was making a push with both my Panzer III's platoons on my left flank. My second echelon platoon then took fire from the hidden anti-tank guns. The platoon took several shots without being able to spot them. I lost two tanks before I puched on. After the game I conlcuded it was the 45mm ATGs deployed in the woods on my right, near the first objective 1. What is the best thing to do when your being shot at and can't figure out where it's coming from. especially for armor that can't hide. 2. Why where these guns not revealed when they fired. I'm assuming the woods hide them that well but I just wanted to be sure. 3. I was confused this platoon took fire because the another platoon of Panzer III's took the same approach earlier without a shot being fired at them. I'm asuuming because the second platoon came in at a slightly better angel. But they both would have been side shots. Oh well Thanks
Dschugaschwili
1. If there are any misses, you might be able to guess the direction the shots are coming from. Then you can either try area firing at suspected positions, try to get out of sight or rotate to get your thicker front armor into the direction of the gun. 2. Tanks spot quite badly when buttoned, small guns are hard to spot, especially at range and in woods. The more eyes you have, the better your chances of spotting the attacker. 3. Perhaps the gun had too many targets when the first platoon passed and didn't want to get into a 1-on-10 fight. Dschugaschwili
