Apache
Rest of this mod is excellent but I have a problem when playing rain scenarios. This sound is much better IMO (quieter rain and more 'distant' sounding arty etc.) but I seem to get a kind of 'static click' after about 45 seconds which repeats regularly. It doesn't happen with the originial. Could it be something to do with the sound loop or is it perhaps my card? If the latter I'm not sure why the original doesn't have the same problem? Has anyone else had the same problem? [ April 12, 2003, 09:01 AM: Message edited by: Apache ]
Brigadier
Yep I had the same prob ... I just copied back the original from the back up folder , no more static.
Dressler
I had the same problem. There's an audible click on the end of the file (1:27), so you can hear it everytime it loops. If you don't have a backup file, just go into your D drive (or wherever your CD drive is), double click on the game CD icon and COPY (don't cut or drag and pull) the file from the original WAV folder, paste it to your desktop and then place it back in your game WAV folder (not the one on the CD, the one in your Program Files on the C drive). Apache
I've got the original up and running again but posted this in case Ncrawler might want to check the mod. I do actually prefer his sound but obviously it's no good with the clicks.
NCrawler
Thanks for pointing this out to me. It's either an oversight on my part or something happened to the file during the install. Monday evening is the earliest that I will be able to take a look at it and if need be, I will generate a patch for the file.
Apache
Many thanks. Excellent mod. Love those tank idle sounds. Not so overbearing.
NCrawler
Hey Apache, if you could, listen to the sound in windows media player and mark down the time when you hear the 'click'. I could not hear a click in my original file and I'm thinking it is something else. If you don't mind, send me mail to jjohnson@ci.sherwood.ar.us when you find the click in the timeline. Thanks...
Dressler
For me, it was at the 1:27 mark when the file closed. There was a loud "CLICK" on the end of the file that could be heard every time it looped.
Apache
Hi Ncrawler, will do. Real pig of a week at work this week though. May be weekend, tomorrow if I'm lucky.
