Warmaker
I'm sorry, I misunderstood the post title. My favorite brew is the frequency Shermans brewed up in CMBO. Anyways, kind of curious and will run through some of those links.
SgtMuhammed
Here I was about the defend the honor of the Guiness Brewery. What a shock. Still the links look interesting. Thanks.
PiggDogg
Goody, I thought that this thread was about bier: Guinness, Bass, Anchor Steam, Newcastle, Salvator, Warsteiner Dunkel, Dixie VooDoo Lager, Abita Turbo Dog, and other wonderful brews. However, Sosh was talking about these military sites. Bier is much more fun than this war stuff. Indeed, if those wonderful brews are mixed with CM, then one has a wonderful mix. Goody, thus, you don't have to defend the honor of such an esteemed brewery as Guinness. Now, let us have a pint of a few of those good hearty brews. Cheers, Richard
Michael Dorosh
That's funny, I don't see a single medal on that page of War Badges you linked to. Must be me.

SgtMuhammed
Ah, the hours of research spent disproving the rumors of being able to float a mark piece on Guinness. (As an aside it is a nice surprise to find a cache of change at the bottom of your beer. And trust me, by the time you get to the bottom of a .5l Guinness you have forgotten what you were doing while it was full.) Here's a scenario idea. When the Russians took Berlin 11 of the 17 Breweries in the city were still operating. Is there any surprise the Germans fought so hard? Just let your mind go wild.

Every time I make a trip to where the cotton grows thick my make sure to pick some up. Never tried Rogue Dead Guy. Where is it from? I'll have to keep my eye out for it. This is not good. Still 3 hours before I'll be home from work and I am suddenly VERY thirsty.
Terrapin
Rogue is from Oregon, but you can get it in most very well stocked bars, or up-town style liquor stores. Dead Guy Ale is a Maibock, but its lighter. Here's a selection of other ales they make, many of which are purely seasonal, or not found outside of Oregon. But it's fun reading! http://www.rogue.com/brews.html
Warmaker
Is it fair to say that all who replied in this post thinking at first it was about beer are alcoholics?... Not that it's a bad thing...
The Hooded One
There is only one beer: Chimay. And make sure it's the blue label 9% one. Two of these and you're pleasantly under the table.
Wallybob
Truly, ain't no beer better than the one in your hand! As a homebrewer, I feel that the beer you can craft for yourself has to be best. It should be exactly what you want. After all, you made it! Seriously, the above links are good!

PiggDogg
Terrapin, You are from Baton Rouge? I'm here in Metairie. Maybe we should play a BB via pbem some time. Turbo Dog is just one of the best biers (yep, German spelling) around. Also, Dixie Blackened Voodoo Lager is most delicious and local New Orleans. Also, I belong to the Crescent City Homebrew Club. I am within a 3 or 4 days of the final rack on an American Pale Ale. Also, on this coming Saturday, we are brewing a stout. Life is good here in New Orleans. Yankee, You know of Turbo Dog in New York??!! Good bier travels fast. Everyone, Remember. A bier or two per day is "very" good for the heart. It is good medicine. lucero1148
For us guys in Asia as we lounge around barefooted on the beach I'd have to say San Miguel does the job to cool the sun off our brow. If you're in China, Tsingtao beer is pretty good too. All best Patrick

Sadly a lot of other brands are real lousy and hardly deserve the name! San Mig still ranks among my favourites in Asia along with the Chang ("Elephant") here in Thailand. This Brew tastes real good and comes with a rather good punch at around 5,8% vol. alcohol and in handy 650ml "Gefechtshuelsen" I emptied once 42 of those in a 3-night stay at Ko Wai, a small island of the cost of Eastern Thailand. The Thai owner of the small resort hasn't forgotten me since then as he likes to gulp up a few bottles himself and my appearance on the beach will give him a good excuse for his wife...

YankeeDog
Originally posted by PiggDogg: Yankee, You know of Turbo Dog in New York??!! Good bier travels fast. Well, as the old saying goes, "If you can't find it in New York, you don't want it." Seems to hold true for most things, too. I know of a few specialty brew bars here in the city that carry literally hundreds of beers. At least occasionally, they'll have TurboDog in stock. I probably never would have heard of TurboDog but for the fact that I travel a lot for work, though. I usually make sure to sample the local brews wherever I go. about two years ago, work took me to Lousiana and I discovered TurboDog. I note on this thread that there are a number of us on this forum who are into homebrewing, a hobby I recently took up myself. In the interests of putting things on their proper place, I think I'll go start up a thread on the General Forum about homebrewing. I'm curious to see just how many of us do-it-yourselfers there are out there. Feel free to chime in there if you're a homebrewer and/or are curious about it. Cheers, YD
