cesser
Hi everyone Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I've always wondered, do field guns gain the same type of cover and concealment as a squad of infantry would, if they are located in a trench? When I think of a trench, I picture World War I no-man's land, and it wouldn't seem to me that you could fit a gun in a trench (unless of course trenches are much larger than my perception). Were infantry guns, Paks, etc. put in trenches? Do these weapons garner the protection any other unit in a trench would? Thanks in advance.
Redwolf
They get the same protection, you should really think of them as "decent fortification" of any kind, as opposed to the weak foxholes in CM. Note however, that the suppressive area around a MG fire impact point is not lightened by the trench. So they are still easy to suppress.
flamingknives
I would also hazard that some trenches used in the 1st world war were wider than you think. I don't have the reference to hand, but some German trenches were wide enough to be impassable to British tanks - so they were a good 3m wide. Unfortunately for the Germans, the British had expected this, and planning accordingly, had bought Fascines (big bundles of sticks) and were able to cross anyway.
