Question for Russian Uniform Grogs

Recommended Posts

I am googling like mad, but can't find any detailed pictures of the early war collar tab devices - the little metal squares and triangles worn on the tabs. Can anyone help out?

Also some other questions

- did the early war pilotka come only unpiped, or did officers have branch/gold piping?

- did the khaki collar tab as worn on the shirt have a branch or gold piping for officers?

Thanks in advance.

for square ones

You can even buy some of them there ;)

AFAIK the triangular rank devices were iddentical to the reactangular and square ones

Since 1935, officer's pilotkas were piped in branch color (rapsberry for infantry, red for artillery etc.) Enlisted ranks always wore unpiped pilotkas

- did the khaki collar tab as worn on the shirt have a branch or gold piping for officers?

AFAIK they didn't
