British Tommy
Can anyone tell me how to stop the blasted installation wizard from starting up each time I put the disc in? this problem is a real pain in the backside as it doesn't happen with CMBO (US version).
gautrek
Oh i thought it was just me who had that problem. i just leave the disc in now.
Schoerner
HAve you already tried DaemonTools? Maybe this helps.
ScouseJedi
LEFT SHIFT while a disc 'boots up' in the CD_ROM drive prevents it running. Of Course having the 'play game' option actually working from CDV's CD autoplay menu would be just as good.

Captain Pies
I believe we all suffer from this affliction. I find a Mantra helps when putting the CD in. CDV are ****e, CDV are ****e, CDV are ****e... repeat until you are able to cancel the autorun.
Lou2000
Whilst I agree with that mantra .... CDV disks are not he only ones that suffer from this annoying habit. Its all to do with autorun. Unless you really need it just disable 'autorun' on the CD drive - It works for me
Dschugaschwili
Works for me too. If I really need it, I can still manually run the autostart program. Dschugaschwili
ColdSober
I accidentally disabled AUTORUN, and now I can't get it back. It's great with the CDV CMBB disk, but a bit annoying with everything else. I'd love to know how to turn that particular function back on
Lou2000
Turning autorun on and off is farily straight forward - but the method depends on what OS you are using.... There are lots of 'tweaking' programs that can do the job for you (TweakUI / TweakXP etc) or you can get down and dirty in the registry - TweakUI Registry - autorun The tweak programs are safer - but always back up your registry if you are doing in manually.
jKMkIII
Could someone tell me where I can turn autoplay off on WindowsXP? I am quite sure I didn't have it earlier, but then had to reinstall and now can't find how to turn it off. All I found was AutoPlay tab on CD properties, but even I have on all types "No Action" still get that stupid CDV autostart.
British Tommy
Many thanks for the replies. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with this problem created by CDV. I just wish BATTLEFRONT.COM would of let me buy CMBB from them Scouse, I will give the 'left shift' a try.
MikeyD
It used to be that by this point some mac operator would chime in, needling you over all your silly PC troubles. ... but that was before System X reared its ugly head. now us mac guys are paying close attention to what's being said by the PC folks, just-in-case the info might come in handy some day.
Panzertruppe
All said and done......thank the "PIRATES" for all the problems with CDV'S software! I would not mind going to the old "wheel" that games like 1989's Battle Of Britain used for copy protection if it makes the "PIRATES" harder to steal games!!
