Paul AU
Lately, I've been trying to... How small can a scenario get, and still be tactically interesting? Or re-playable? I realise that the smaller a game gets the larger part luck plays in it. If you’ve only got one tank, and it bogs on turn one… Can anyone think of tiny games that worked? Or any thoughts on what makes a good micro-scenario. I’m thinking about a re-enforced platoon (or two) level. (I'm sure this had been discussed before. Somehwere.)
Kingfish
Back when Der Kessel was still around they had a section devoted to small scenario which they called "Byte battles". I forget the parameters, but I think it was a max of 1500 points total for both sides. Great for a Sunday afternoon of death and destruction.
Leprechaun
I think Hans has a bunch of small battles which you can find at the scenario depot under the title SB (i.e., SB A Simple Attack). Another designer whose small battles I enjoy is AL (the Berlin one is a blast).
JasonC
Berli made some excellent small scenarios for both CMBB and CMAK. At bottom CM is a better company scale infantry-heavy game, than a battalion and up tank war simulator.
Andreas
You can find Berli's scenarios here: http://freenet-homepage.de/t34m43 I'll eventually add more of the old small scenarios, both for CMBB and CMBO. All the best Andreas
