Bullwinkle
If I recall my military history correctly, the HMS Victorious (a CV) was in the hunt for the Bismarck in 1941. So why isn't this carrier present in the game in 1939? I can't believe it was commissioned between '39 and '41 (but I could be wrong).
Edwin
HMS Victorious was one of the Illustrious class of carriers. Three of them (including the Victorious - not sure if the launch was before or after September 3rd) being launched in 1939. However, I have noticed that SC does not give the accurate starting forces for the main belligerents. Whilst the game is based on an historical event it does not aim to replicate that event in total. SC is not trying to be a history lesson. We must make do with what we have. Perhaps we should have the ability to name newly created units

Archibald
HMS Victorious was commissioned on 15 May 1941. http://hometown.aol.co.uk/robjerrard/myhomepage/royalnavy/vict/vict.htm gives a brief outline of her career.
Edwin
A right mouse click - you learn something every day, thanks. I/O ERROR - take something for that nasty cough. I knew the carriers were launched in 1939, but I was not sure of the commission dates. Quite a lag.
