Thread locking etiquette

Recommended Posts

Just a note for the moderators... When you lock a thread, it's nice if you post a message saying something like, "We're locking this 'coz it's way off topic, and besides, some of you have violated the code of conduct by posting material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law."

Thanks.

(sig changed, 'coz upon listening to the song again, Ian McKaye is actually singing 'head', not what was written in the liner notes.)

Hi John,

I think you will notice that that is usually what we do. With the thread you are referring to though there was more behind the scenes than what you are aware of, so no comment was decided to be given until the situation could be discussed...

I guess it's too much to hope that his parents can be notified? Maybe they'll take his computer away until he's more mature ...
