MrSpkr
Say this slowly with me: THIS IS A HOAX. Let's repeat: THIS IS A HOAX. You just told people to destroy a file used by Win 95/98/ME to restore long filenames. For more information about the hoax, go to the Symantec Antivirus Research Center. If you have already deleted this file, the page referenced above contains instructions on how to reinstall it. One last time, repeat after me: THIS IS A HOAX. That is all. Fangorn
Actually, this file is very important for your OS (unless you believe windows is a virus). This is a hoax.
Micheal Wittman
It's for long file names, I was told, and yes It's NOT a virus. But some of us believe in ghost too
Skorpion
Well, it's both a hoax and a truth. There is a trojan that pretends to be the long filename backup tool, but it tends not to overwrite the original. But anyway, how many people actually use this tool anyway? I would have thought that it would have made more sense to pretend to be something useful so that if people did delete it they'd cause more harm than good. If you are even in the slightest bit worried - delete it. I promise you that you'll never use it anyway.
