Note that if things stand as they are my entry will be #24 out of 24 which is where I predict I will end up when all is said and done. Five games in 90 days!!

This may be an unusual idea, but what do you guys think about collecting the passwords for the PBEMs at a trusted person (e.g. Treeburst)? That way people who drop out of games for whatever reason can be replaced easily. We also have more means to enforce timeouts. Don't think that I mistrust any specific person, in fact my own PBEM performance was absymal this summer. For excusable reasons, but surely my opponent would have to be concerned if they were tourney games.

Cpl Carrot
I think you just made it Kurt. The collection of passwords is a sound idea. RL does have this horrible habit of raising its ugly head at inappropiate times. The alturnative could be for someone (Treeburst155) to supply players with passwords, not that it makes much difference. I believe TCP is available if both parties agree to it. I for one will be doing it PBEM only however. Cpl Carrot
imported_WARHAMMER
If the file zipping is going to be a pain in the ass, can anyone suggest another email service where zipping isn't an issue?!
Treeburst155
Commissar, You can do all the TCP/IP you want as long as your opponents agree to it. If they want PBEM though, you have to be willing to comply. Warhammer, You are in at #24. The tourney is now full. Redwolf, I will be assigning all passwords as a part of my security procedure. I will know every player's password for every game. No player will be able to look at his opponents briefings, units, or setup. It is completely secure. It is very easy on the players. You will see when you get your first game started. Treeburst155 out.
The Commissar
WARHAMMER, Unless the scenarios we will be battling each other in are humongous, you will not need to zip the files. On a 5000 point game, I rarely get files larger then 1.5 megs at the peak fo the action. For smaller scenarios, the usual size is around 150-500kb. An easily transportable ammount. Treeburst155
The tentative start date for the Nordic Championship is November 11th, I believe. This tournament would start the same day. I will probably get swamped with scenario requests since I'm kicking off two tournaments at once. If this happens it may be another day or two before some receive their various briefings and/or game files. In short, you're looking at another week or two, I'd say. Treeburst155 out. Cooper
So we will get 5 games at once? Which player get the first turn and how do you know which player you are playing for which scenario? Are we all going to be broken into smaller size groups, then a random draw as to who plays what scenarios? Sorry for all the questions, first tournment. In addition we do the rating system that allows unbalanced scenarios to be used, which is thread 021512. Cooper
I saw the scoring system and I like the fact I can get crushed 80-20 and still get more point then the man who somehow defeated my digital troops. I was just wondering how we start this off.

Jack Trap
Are there any guidelines as to what is "gamey" (a now hated word), and therefor not an acceptable use of units? If I am going to be referred to another thread, please be as specifc as possible. Thank you Treeburst, and all of those supplying the scenarios. We will make good use of them!
Cooper
What everyone defines as gamey is different. What I saw on the other thread it is up to you to work that out with your opponet. Treeburst one question, roughly how long/big are these scenarios? I am asking this because if they are 60 turn monsters you need to get a early start on them because of the deadline.
