Roster Still Needed

Recommended Posts

I'm assuming that adding a roster wasn't a viable option for a CM1 patch. What other reason could BTS have for not including one so I and others can find our men on the battlefield. I can deal with looking for my men on small maps but when you play the large ones, a roster is a necessity.

Will this feature be in CM2 and if so, can a CM1 version be updated in the future to include such improvements as this one?

While I agree with you that some form of keeping track of your troops would be a nice thing (I subscribe to the "this is a game first and foremost" school of thought), this issue has certainly been discussed at length:

I believe the upshot is that we'll probably get something to help track troops--maybe--but probably not a full roster.

IMHO it would help some if the different formations were named the same way they were in real life. I find the present way of naming companies and platoons confusing. I can manage it, but it's awkward.

What I would most like is a page that would pop up in response to a hot key that would have an organisation tree with all sub-units listed on it. Clicking on a unit on the tree would take you directly to the unit on the map.
