Jarmo
Don't I get some kind of special price for being the only one to blow up twice?
pcpilot
Pardon my rookieness fellas but where did you do a tank rumble? Like, what website or whatever? I would love to get in on something like this...Have Sherman, will travel
Gordon
Jarmo, I was going to cover that in the AAR. Unfortunately, so many Shermans blew up so spectacularly that the whole concept of an award for "best acting in a dramatic death scene" had to be scrapped. pcpilot, Keep an eye on the message board. There will be a call for players for the next rumble (sometime after I've written the AAR for this one and come up with a good scenario). Gordon
While working on the AAR, I realized that I had incorrectly attributed a kill to Chaffee that really should have belonged to Jarmo. Fortunately, it didn't change the standings, but in the interest of accuracy, here's the revised results. gaffertape
I'm honoured, but the credit to my win goes to my AI gunner (who rarely missed), and CROCKETT who came to my rescue just in time. Loved the game, Gordon. Looking forward to the AAR and the Rumble Mark II. - GAFF
Gordon
mPisi, Well, maybe your crew is in line for some awards, but that first result was a shock. Gaffertape, I'd say that Badinfo had you dead to rights, right up to the moment that Crockett "blew him up real good." Gordon
rvalle
To me, the most amazing thing about this game was the shear chaos. No one knew what the other guy was doing. You germans did not see it but on the first turn we had two collisions. One of them caused a tank to get stuck and the next one unstuck him. I never thought about how much differance it makes to only control one tank. When you 'drive' all the units they all move in perfect harmony with each other. Pausing when they need to and moving fast to cover a gap. This way we were given some instructions "Move to the crossroads" and we hoped that everyone would do what they needed to. It was GREAT fun and I'd do it again. Gordon, can you email me if you start up another battle? I don't get to check the board all that often. rvalle
Homba
However this works, I'd love to get in on it. Is there an email or site we can send to/look at for more info? Homba
Jeff Heidman
Gordon, did you get this idea from the "Team Tank Rumbles" run for ASL? I played a Russian KV-76 platoon leader in the very first ASL team tank rumble. Damn, that was fun! Let me know if you are going ro tun another one, or if you would like some help organizing or managing. Jeff Heidman

Two seconds later and I'd have killed your wingman. As it was, I never even saw the source of that 88mm shell... Sgt Badinfo

Jake

We sent our orders to Gordon who would plot them and then run the turn. He would email the movie to all of us. Between turns we could send emails to the others in our team and then send in the orders again. BTW, hats off to Gordon. He made every turn on time. Not only that but every order I sent him was plotted perfectly. Considering my writing skills that is a feat! rvalle
Gordon
Jeff, Yes indeed, I played in the "Dompaire" and the "Coldstream/Goodwood" rumbles and had a blast. So I thought I'd try to host a CMBO-based rumble (figuring it would be a lot easier on the GM). Everyone interested in the next rumble. I've completed the first draft of the AAR for this rumble (I hope to post it soon) and have started on the situation and map for the next. The 2nd rumble will be combined-arms and the situation will be in the Ardennes. Stay tuned to the message board for the announcement.
