Louie the Toad
Two of us want to try playing a scenario where one is the operational commander and the other is the tactical commander. We will be on the same side. We have played on the same side before so the mechanics of that are not an issue. What we are looking for is: A BO scenario Very large map Where different firefights can take place somewhat isolated from one another but still influencing the over all picture. (The one that comes to mind that we have played already is 'August Bank Holiday') What would you suggest? Two Player Toad
Stoffel
Hi toad, Can you remember which one of my CMBO scenarios you reviewed? It was may 1940,I would do that one if I was you. That is if you mean CMBO If its for CMBB than I have a great map for you to create a custom scenario yourself. Let me know if you want the map. Louie the Toad
Greetings Stoffel, We actually did play May 1940. We played on the German side, splitting the forces. We enjoyed it quite a bit. Did a great hammer and anvil tactic in the woods. So that one will not work for us. CMBO. Appreciative of the thought... simovitch
Louie, I am going to go out on a limb here and suggest one of mine, "rollbahn A". big, historically accurate map and OB, and the forest provides for many opportunities for isolated battles to take place. just remember as germans to pay attention to the breifing, and you may just make it... simovitch
Stoffel
my day of the wasps scenario is on a big map,its historical too. I had to skip some guns from the German OOB though otherwise the Canucks did not have a chance(as they did in the real battle)

JaegerMeister
Louie, check out the Operation Storfang battles for your technique, they have huge sprawling (very realistic terrain) maps and the fighting can certainly be spread wide and isolated from each other. It would seem just the ticket for your command proposals.
Louie the Toad
JaegerMeister Is that a BO battle? Cant find it at Scenario Depot. My partner's computer can't support BB. Lotsa grass.... Toad

Louie the Toad
Hi Franko, We played ABH as two player vs AI but not as operational and tactical commanders. We just thought of trying that a week or two ago. If we don't find anything suitable we may use ABH in this experiment. It is such an enjoyable scenario. If you are asking how it went as two player... We played the German side. One of us attacked along the gully and the other moved along the road with Whitmann's group then turned toward the two small towns, attacking them from the flank and rear. It took a long time...too long before one attack helped the other. Pincer... Toad
Stoffel
Toad, Another way is to have a group of players play like the good old days of tacops Cpx. Two guys actually play the games. All others get a situation map with an order and they have to make a plan with the info they have. After that the two players with CMBB Or CMBO on implenment the orders and give regular feedback. Its even better if you have some voice over comms program on with all players a round. Unfortunately I have little or no time and soon my internet comms are down for a few weeks due to problems at home. very serious ones....
Louie the Toad
Stoffel, Does remind me of the old days of sand table wargaming. Nowdays it seems that we fight in isolation. I miss the comradarie. Lone Ranger.... Toad
