Hawkeye
You know, the text file format of the PBEM games is really quite irritating. I mean, first of all, you and your opponent usually don't use the same format when you play. And second of all you usually have to navigate your hard drive everytime you save the file or send it. Wouldn't it be a lot more convenient if the game automatically named the files in their own directory and they had their own EXTENSION so that you could just double clik on them? After many a PBEM game, that's the way I feel about it. Hawkeye
Forever Babra
I don't have to navigate anything. I set the default save directory for email attachments to "C:/CMBO/PBEM". Piece of cake.
KMan
Hawkeye, If you are using a PC, I suggest you try either "CM One Click" or "PBEM". Both of these are pbem utility programs which ease some of the pains of pbem file management. Here is a thread which discusses both utilities: http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/Forum1/HTML/015959.html Download One Click from: http://home.worldnet.att.net/~kyleneet/CMOneClick Download PBEM from: http://www.sci.fi/~fuerte/pbem.htm Do a search for "Fuerte pbem" to find more threads on PBEM. Do a search for "One Click" to find more threads on CM One Click. -KMan

Hawkeye IIRC, Steve said way back when the original came out that they were going to look into saving, unzipping, sending PBEM files from within the game so that you would not have to esc to the desktop to send and receive. Don't recall anything lately though, so I don't know if this is on the list for CM2 (the game) or CMII (the engine rewrite). ------------------ Jeff Abbott
