I have downloaded the demo version of tacops4, tested it, and it is quite impressive.

Nevertheless it has a big flaw. It is designed to be played by U.S. army or Canadian army. It is a serious flaw for the tactical simulator not to allow both sides to be played (solo play). It would be much more interesting to be able to see engagements from the both sides. This way both sides decisions and mistakes can be analysed.

Also it would be interesting to try soviet- equipped army against another soviet- equipped army or western equipped army against western equipped army.

Dude, I am a long time newbie when it comes to this program, but before you get 'avalanched' by the big guns that lurk on this forum... you need to understand that every unit can be altered and endless combinations can be played out within the a.i structure. I am not sure about the ability to mod the demo. But without doubt, Tacops is worth every cent. Even with 'scenario editor limitations' Tacops is the one game that I return to again and again to play. Other games have been loaded and removed; Tacops remains. Simple graphics, easily played, and I always get my butt kicked. High challenge value!

You can play Opfor in multiplayer scenarios. You can even custom create missions for multiplayer environments with T-72s vs T-80s if you want.

You can always exchange the Soviet equipment for Western stuff and vice versa, thereby playing Red (although you stay on the same side of the scenario).
