Once again about the übertank prices..

Recommended Posts

I feel the urge to use the big hunks all the time and feel they're

underpriced.

My suggestion (this time) is to include a price bump to the

point where armor value's so high, it's no longer penetrable

by "standard" equipment.

So for example, the allied tanks that can't be killed frontally

by the 75mm woould have something like 25-50 extra cost.

Now, would this brilliant plan involve us climbing out of

our trenches and walking slowly towards the enemy sir?

Hmm, just off the top of my head, how are you going to treat relatively standard German tanks like the Panther (moreso) or Tiger I (less so) in this scheme? Or for the UK the Churchill VII for that matter? I don't think any of these should be made more expensive because of their armour superiority.

I'd up the prices for all of 'em.

Churchill the most and Tiger the least.

German "bump standard" should be the ability to withstand 76mm.

Hmm, I can not quite follow the logic here. The Churchill is already quite expensive, considering it is undergunned. The problem as I see it is that it would skew the advantage towards the German armour, if I understand your idea correctly, which is by no means assured. The German tanks carry much better guns and have superior armour, so just looking at the armour values for the tanks to decide about this is leaving a major factor out of it. The easiest would of course be to agree with your PBEM opponent beforehand on a modicum of historical accuracy or otherwise.

I have something of an unusual problem - I prefer to play a bunch of Shermans/Jacksons (even Chaffees!) against panthers/tigers etc (although the KT is a bit much) rather than the other way around. My panthers seem to suffer from "gun hits" at terribly high rates.

Love those fast turrets. At short distances, you can shoot and scoot enough to frequently get the first few shots, and get them on the side.

Since so many of german tanks have this big hunk of armor,

there would be more raises for germans.

For allies, there'd be changes only for Churchills, Jumbos

and Pershings.

I'd like to build historical forces, but what would be allowed?

I don't know.

And I wouldn't want rarity to affect pricing, I just feel the

big ones come too cheap.
