Scheuer
Hi This probably has been addressed before but I have really searched the forum without finding any notice of it: Where is the M1A2 tank in TacOps 4? There is a jump between the M1A1D and the M1A2SEP. If a scenario calls for M1A2 tanks, what should you use?
MajorH TacOps Developer
Use the M1A1D unless it is very important to you to have the newest M1 armor package in which case use the M1A2SEP.
Scheuer
umm, ok... Do you consider the M1A1D and M1A2 to be identical in game terms as each tank is not represented?
MajorH TacOps Developer
When I did the TacOpsCav modification for the U.S. Armor School the subject matter experts there were not interested in having a unit type in the data base that was named "M1A2". They wanted a "M1A1D" to be in the data base with the game characteristics as shown and they wanted a "M1A2SEP" to be in the data base with the game characteristics as shown. They also wanted the "M1A1D" to be the model of M1 that was used by default for all or most factory provided scenarios. You will have to draw your own conclusions as to why these details were specified that way.
