Guest hunt52
OK folks - there has been a MASSIVE update to the CMLS at http://patriot.net/~carey/cgi-bin/players.pl New things since first showing: 1. German Rank Images! 2. Players are displayed in order 3. Stats version 1.0 - more to be added 4. You can register and submit games! I would appreciate it if people headed over to the site and checked it out! Keep in mind that the engine is still unfinished and much more is to be done. As always, if you have any suggestions let me know. I will look into them and see what I can do. - Bill
krm
Looks good so far. What is the procedure to join the ladder?
Guest hunt52
There is a "Register" link on the page. Click that and sign up! - Bill
Guest hunt52
Thanks to all the people who registered! Already found one glitch (and am in the process of exorcising it...) Could you all submit some games (they can be made up) to the ladder, and can people confirm them regardless of what they say... that part of the engine needs looking at and I need data to check up on it... don't worry though - the ladder will be reset once it is "done". (probably when the game comes out - possibly sooner) - Bill
Berlichtingen
Ok, this is interesting. I submitted a game in which I won and Goanna lost (sorry, Goanna, I couldn't resist). On the list, Goanna is listed as one loss, no wins... I'm listed as one win, no losses. He has a score of 1030 and I have a score of 970. So, does this mean that we are trying to achieve the rank of recruit

Guest hunt52
Berli, here's the problem you encountered: You submitted a game with equal purchase points (1000 per side) and attacker/defender roles. This will slant the results HEAVILY and make the expected score for the defender really high. If you were defending you would have had to win 99-30 to break even... The problem is that I don't have all the point values for the beta demo scenarios... Riesburg is: Allies : 749 Axis : 1754 For the other two (unless someone in the know can help me out) I would suggest using meeting engagement and equal forces... Will look at the algorithm again... - Bill
Guest hunt52
Quick question for the CM community: I have the ladder set up to display 3 lists of players: Combined, Axis, Allies. Now, When displaying the list for a particular side, do you all want the ranks to be 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9... OR 1,3,4,7,9,10... where 2,5,6,and 8 are on the other list? Basically, do you want seperate ranks for the Axis and Allies lists? - Bill

I completely misinterpreted what the points fields were asking for. I thought it was asking for the players' current ratings.

Guest hunt52
Hard to explain... If you go there now and look at either the axis or allied list it "skips" places... you have something like: Allies only list: 1. hunt52 1248 Major 3. MattF 1124 corporal 4. ... 1000 ... where the #2 player plays axis only. Do you all want that or want: 1. hunt52 1248 Major 2. MattF 1124 corporal 3. ... 1000 ... and have the same thing for the axis list? This would mean that your rank on the mixed list would be lower than your rank on each individual list... - Bill
Berlichtingen
I don't see as it really makes any difference. Whether I'm rated as a Colonel or an Oberst is a matter of personal taste and really doesn't mean anything. German players will at times play Allies and vis-a-versa. The overall ranking is the only real rating.
DEF BUNGIS
Hehe.... I havn't even played a game and I already out rank people. May be I'll keep it like that, at least I know I'll never be a buck private. ------------------ Better to make the wrong decision than be the sorry son of a bitch to scared to make one at all
