Guest jaja
If the slope of a square is too great a building placed on that square will not show up. The random map generator does not take this into account.

Anyway the high slope is not really a bug. Think about it if the slope is to great a building would fall over. That why buildings foundations are flat. If that doesn't work for you think of it this way if there is a steep slope it cannot simply stop for a flat foundation of a building. A building can be placed on a slope but will show up on a flat area, and cannot be a very steep slope.
Guest jaja
I'm talking about the random map generator. In a town the slope would be flattened by people to make the building.
Guest Rob/1
Thats a good pont but if you wont to make your own battle or op why use ato gen?
Guest jaja
I can easily correct the problem when making maps, but what about the poor people who play quick-battles!
Guest Rob/1
But in Q battles how do you know that a bilding is suppoed to be there if you cant see it in editor mode? ------------------ Game master of Robs CMC Join Robs CMC2 today! Guest jaja
Set terrain to town---not enough time to give a detailed explanation.
Guest Madmatt
This is not a bug but a limitation of the way slopes and hills are created. There is not much that can be done at this point though and it has not really proven to be a serious issue since this has been in for well over a year now. Think of it as lesser of two evils if you must. But to be honest, cities tend to NOT be built on areas of really hilly terrain for the most part. Villages yes, but if you are going to take the time to lay down pavement for a city then they would usually flatten out the adjancet land as well. Rob, or whoever mentioned it aboce, does make an obvious observation. Since you cant see the map in the editor you really cant be certain that there ever WAS a building located at a given spot. Could just be a garden or little grassy knoll etc... The Map AI logic I am sure will be getting a work over for CM2 but this isn't something I think Charles will be changing in CM1.
