V.1.04 and 1.03

Recommended Posts

Being currently in the middle of a pbem using 1.03 ----would there be any problems caused by switching between 1.04 for normal A.I. play of new scenarios and temporarily reinstalling V 1.03 for each turn of the current pbem-------certainly a pain--- but would it work technically without causing tech mayhem within the programme

pcelt,

This has been mentioned before (when 1.03 came out), if you are on a Windows platform, simply rename one of the executables, put them both in the correct directory, then just run the one you need at the moment. You can setup shortcuts to them as well, so starting one of the versions is simply clicking a different icon. I've been doing this with 1.01 and 1.03 no problems. I now have 1.04 setup the same way, but haven't tried it yet, assuming it will work because of the way CM is distributed.

Lol, it figures. I've been using batch files to copy back an forth both versions. Didn't even cross my mind to do this simpler method. An I even renamed the executable!...hehehe redface.gif

Am I reading this right, can you set up two versions in the same game directory just as long as you know which version exe. you're using?

Yes, but it works for now only because the EXE file is the only thing that has changed since version 1.02(everything else was just cosmetic changes).
