James Ling
I've just read Fionn's report in the HQ about AI. What brilliant way to do it! I was wondering if the battaleon & company AI has different quality levels to model the abilties of different commanders within the chain of command. Do these AI commanders also have a "personality" ie aggressive/cautious/direct/indirect ect?
Moon
Battalion HQs tend to have better command and rally skills by default, while company and platoon HQ units are usually better in combat and stealth. However, this applies only to the randomly generated leadership skills - in the editor you can tweak all the values as you see fit.
David Stone
Moon, Are you saying we can "edit" the ratings of leaders when designing scenarios?? I thought, we just received whoever was assigned by the system when you chose say: "volksgrenadier battalion." Thanks Stonemeister
Moon
No, you can edit the leadership ratings. You do get a randomly generated set of stats, but you can edit them to, say, reflect outstanding historical leaders and heros.

James Ling
Guys, guys I did'nt make myself clear in my question. I'm talking about the "Operational" and "Strategic" AI which models the desisions of how the AI plays: is there any variable ability and style in the operational & strategic AI or is it constant? It is constant in one way....it beats me often! No complants there.
Guest Big Time Software
To answer James' main question, there are (sorta) different AI personalities. Meaning that the AI is capable of different overall beahviors based on various circumstances. Generally this revolves around aggressiveness. This is not a deep and complex thing, but rather subtle "weights" (this is a Fuzzy Logic term for variables to control outcomes) that are used in one circumstances vs. another.
