coe
If I am advancing infantry and I don't know where the enemy is what is the type of movement that will best spot the enemy minimize casualtives, and cause my troops to pause and engage with full force (note I am not talking about crawling)....whatever that movement that mimics when the squad has a few people covering, the next few dash forward, leap frogging but within the squad. Ted
I’d use the Sneak command. That would more or less simulate members within a squad carefully moving forward using cover and other tactics to contact the enemy. Plus when they do spot someone or come into contact the squad will come to a halt and open fire. The only down side is it's a slow maneuver. gaffertape
Good answer Ted. Based on your impressive score, I'm likely to be doing a lot of sneaking when you and I face each other in round 2 of the Superbowl. GAFF
Ted
LOL Gaff, Not to get off the subject of Coe’s thread but I’m not one for sneaking around. I’m more a thrashin’, stompin’, crashin’, creating havoc kind of guy. I’m looking forward to round 2. I see Pvt. Pike is from Britain and your from Canada and I’m from here in the good ‘ol US of A . This sure will be a “World” class Not-So-Tournament. And if we don’t see each other in the second round I hope to meet up with you and play for the Not-So-Gold Metal. ScoutPL
COE, what you describe is called bounding overwatch and is a movement technique popular among modern day infantry. The only way to do it in CM is break the squad in half and move them yourself, using the move command. Sneak if you've got the time, but CM portrays the last few hundred meters of a fight and scenarios should be characteristically short to simulate this so you probably wont have the time. But with one team in overwatch and one moving you'll do OK. Just be sure to keep the remainder of the platoon/company close by to come forward and help if they run into something they cant take care of themselves.
