fubart Posted December 28, 2000 Posted December 28, 2000 Given the mechanics of gameplay in CM, does it matter with regard to being "spotted" by the enemy whether my my squad runs, crawls or "moves" across an open area. Everything being equal, does each style of movement have a different likelihood of being spotted in an open area?
109 Gustav Posted December 28, 2000 Posted December 28, 2000 If your men are in open ground with clear visibility, they are gonna get spotted when they move, no matter what. When you give units a move order, it does decrease th liklihood of your units being spotted, because "move" simulates them taking cover occasionally and running past the really open patches of ground. Remember, open ground is not totally open, it is modeled as having some cover. Therefore, you're best off running to minimize your time spent in the open terrain, or using smoke to cover your movements. ------------------ Well my skiff's a twenty dollar boat, And I hope to God she stays afloat.
