pritzl
I'm planning to create a few historically accurate scenarios once this game is realeased. I've already started work on the TO&E for both sides, but this doesn't matter much if the maps aren't accurate. Needless to say, the maps in most history books are very poor, expecially at the scale represented in CM. Anyone know a good place to find topographical maps of Western Europe. Even modern ones would be extremely helpful. ------------------

John Kettler
Pritzl, Since I don't know when you first came aboard, I'll simply let you know that your topic has been discussed here before in considerable depth. I know this because I was a participant. I suggest that you run a search under "maps" or "topo maps." This should yield you a wealth of information. As a general rule here, search the board first before asking your question. This saves both time and aggravation for all concerned. We're glad to help; we just don't like repeating ourselves. We look forward to seeing your scenarios when they're ready. Regards, John Kettler
Guest kip anderson
Protzl, Hi, As has been pointed out by others that when it comes to CM scale maps the best source is aerial photographs. This side of the pond, the UK, the best place to go for the millions of aerial photos taken by th RAF in WW2 is Keele University, England. You are after what they call the "air photo" library; Keele University is on the net but not the air photo library department. To concact them phone the University and they will put you through to the lady that runs the place. The number, calling from within the UK is 01782 621111. I would be very grateful if someone could tell me where is the best place to find aerial photos taken by US forces in WW2.I have tried to find a WW2 US photo library on the net but without any luck. When it comes to the Battle of the Bulge and the Ardennes it is worht pointing out that the Ardennes has long been a conservation area and 90% of the houses are in the same place they were in WW2, just ignore the new motorways running through the region. Current aerial photos will therefor be OK as a reference for the region in WW2. Hope I have been of help, all the best, Kip. ------------------

Guest kip anderson
Captain Foobar, Yes thanks for the link to Terraserver. Great resource, I have just been on the site and ordered an image of the village of Stavelot, where Peiper did a lot of his fighting. Thanks, Kip. ------------------
