PzKpfw 1
Was playing Bill's Herrlishein cutoff Operation,as the US (don't faint Bill ) I was down to an M-18, & 2 105's. Had the M-18 in a ambush position covering the road, when an Panther appeared, the M18 took that out but was was nailed by an unseen AFV. I figured I was toast now I had no armor left cept the 2 105's. Then I see a Stug nose around the corner & BAM my 105 I had reversed behind the M-18 earlier takes out the Stug with a side hull penetration. Now I see that my 105 is in a better ambush position then my M-18 had been, to get to it, all the German armor has to expose their side hulls to turn, as they cant go through the woods to come straight on (I can't pick this great an ambush spot when I try . After the Stug Brews up and a pause I see an PzKpfw IV inching out, then see it go catostraughic, well hearing the 105 gunner shout "I got 1'. Then I see something edge out totaly unexpected, an Jadgtiger, (at this point I said ACK!!!) and swear I heard the 105 crew say '****'. I figure I'm toast here as here comes this bunker on treads & all I got is my lil 105 Sherman, but as it pulls out further I here BLAM then see the Jadgtiger shake and see it was KO'd with an side hull penetrion, against all odds while shouting 'YES" I note my 105 is kicking some major German arse. As I'm sitting their cheering etc the 105, I see another Panther manouvering out, and check the SC rounds left in the 105 it has 1 round left, I say 'Cmon take it out before it gets its front to you' and as if the crew heard me they fire & the Panther was destroyed by a side turret penetration. In the end 1 Lil Sherman 105 with a 5 SC rounds saved the day for the surviving US troops, and was recomended for the MOH . Its kill tally was: 11 - Inf Casualties 1 - Stug III G 1 - PzKpfw IV H 1 - Jadgtiger 1 - Panther G Regards, John Waters ------------------ People who can smile when things go wrong have found someone else to blame.
