Col Deadmarsh
What do the gold boxes around the leadership icons mean? It says on p. 73 something about +1 and +2 bonuses but it doesn't tell how to recognize them on the unit screen. Do the gold boxes have something to do with this? ------------------ Everything in moderation...except CM.
Pvt. Ryan
The leadership icons are what they are (+1) and the boxes double those qualities (+2). I would list what the leadership qualities are, but there are so many of them (4) that I can't remember what each of them stands for right now. Chupacabra
The star thingy is command, the heart thingy is morale, the lightning thingy is combat, and the question mark thingy is stealth. ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super. The Adder
Read the new article "MAKING THE OBVIOUS EVIDENT - MANAGING HQ UNITS" by Ron Alderdice & Ariel Ledesma Becerra at http://combathq.thegamers.net/articles/HQ/hq.asp . Perhaps you can pick up a hint or two on how to better utilize your HQs. Graaf Spee
A related question. How do the bonus affect the squad and the hq itself? Ive always thought that it increases the expriencelevel by one or two (from reg to vet/crack). It works that way with the commandbonus and delaytime. If it works that way a reg squad with a hq with +2 bonus on everything should be just as good as an elite squad with a hq without any bounus. Am I correct? If the above is correct, then how is the hq itself handled? Does it give itself any bonus? Or is it only the command bonus that applies to it? Maybe someone has run a test on this. Im to lazy to do it myself. /Kristian

Daveman
I've posted on officer quality before, but dang it I now have a game with a Veteran Airborne Platoon HQ that has NO leadership bonuses... +0 all around. I've always used my HQs for leading specific tasks, but this guy is just a walking radio. ------------------ “Fortune favors the brave" - Terence
Schugger
I don't think the HQ`s boni work like that each "pip" increses the squad's experiance level. I would prefer a Veteran platoon with a no bonus HQ each time over a regular one with +1 in each command aspect. I've also found out that it is very important to keep the squads in command range of their HQ even if they don't have any command boni. Their delay is much higher and they act very badly to enemy combat actions ( sometimes a loud " Booh!" is sufficient to let them take cover). I have to say that I'm somewhat unhappy that the command ratings of each HQ are determined randomly in QBs and aren't reflected in the HQ's point value. They do have a serious impact in the game.
