Andrew Kulin
John, is there any requirement to apply patch during orders phase of any existing games? I am in a middle of campaign - not sure if that past requirement only applies to PBEM games or all games. Also does this get borked up in any way due to Steam? As in Steam updating the game automatically and you are not in a position to go into the older version and save game in orders phase before the update?

As in Steam updating the game automatically and you are not in a position to go into the older version and save game in orders phase before the update? Excellent questions! It shouldn't mess anything up. Sometimes patches can. I was worried about the Tournament that is scheduled to start on February 5th. I started a PBEM++ battle with myself using v2.10 and then tried to continue it with v2.11 and didn't have a problem. That said, we've left it up to Slitherine if they can get the patch up on Steam before the tournament starts or if we should push the start date back a couple of days to be safe. Also, I don't know how long it will take them to patch. They told me it's usually 1-2 days. So if you're using Steam you're better off making the save sooner rather than later Any saved games it's always safer to make sure to save the game in the plot phase before installing the patch. You'll probably be fine if you don't but it doesn't hurt to be extra sure.

I'm a naughty boy and ignored the PBEM save instruction. It works fine anyway. Whose is the new scenario - is it a Benpark or someone else? Looks good - preserving force eh? I might learn something .
Frenchy56
The new scenario made me notice that the US Army does not have the appropriate M43 uniform appearance option starting in April 45. The only option is Standard (M41). Seen in CMFI R2V at the same date : The Sherman V texture still does not include the bow MG. Look at the bottom right : From the patch: Correct: Edited February 1 by Frenchy56
Ultradave
I'm on a Mac so dissecting those files is not a thing for me, so I wouldn't know whether either of those are correct TBH But I did create scenarios with Sherman Vs and look at them and the bow MG appeared to look ok to me. This is what I'm seeing on a PC, the pintle does look un-textured. Maybe the tracks are a bit odd but I don't usually look this closely, and the rounded 'whatever it is' on the upper right of the hull looks a bit un-textured. What about those overlapping tracks and the rounded thingamajig on the upper hull?

What about those overlapping tracks and the rounded thingamajig on the upper hull? Both of those have been like that forever. It's easy to ignore honestly. The "rounded thingamajig" is the hull radio antenna bracket. The regular radio is in the turret but an additional one could be fitted in the hull for command tanks.
Vacillator
Fair enough. I just looked at a few other Shermans, some (for example a III I think) with similar looking track links. No overlap? And the hull fitted radio for command tanks seems to be in every Sherman V? Small things for sure, don't get me wrong. I wouldn't even have noticed unless I was looking for the MG issue.
Frenchy56
Yes, the Sherman V is the only one which has that issue. It's actually quite different to the other Sherman models when you look at the texture layout and the 3D model. It's only the bracket, as you can see there is no antenna coming out of it and the top is bolted shut with a round steel plate. The bracket itself was part of the hull of every Sherman tank.
laurent 22
I imported the original Sherman V textures from BN, they are in the data brz file "normandy v210 market garden b".

Sakai007
So quick question, can I install this patch over my steam install? I have all my CM games installed through steam for convenience, but they haven't been updated with this patch yet.

I was testing it this morning. They're on UK time and don't usually do things on weekends. So it may not be until Monday.

Am still slogging through mission 4 of the US campaign so the wait won't kill me, lol.

CHEqTRO
So, @BFCElvis, I just downloaded the 2.11 version for Steam, and the new scenario, DF Home Alive In Forty-Five is not present. Checked both in the Steamapps and in the document folder for the new scenario and no luck. May you ask the folks at Slitherine to check if they uploaded the new patch correctly?
