ThePhantom
Not sure if this is correct for the Italy time period. I noticed a lot of my US Infantry have full kits on their "Web Belts." A shovel, canteen, knife, ammo pouches, etc. Something has got to hold that belt up or it could become an issue. That kind of belt weight requires a suspender type system to keep the web belt in place. I know from the 782 Gear Loadout the "H Harness" was required. You could get away with a holster and sidearm on the web belt (Security, Night Watch). However, that was about it. I seriously don't believe the suspenders were optional. Does this bother anyone else or is it just me?
Erwin
If one looks at the Italian WW2 pics one sees both. Maybe depends on what sort of action the troops are in? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_campaign_(World_War_II)#/media/File:Luccaitaly1944.png https://tinyhordes.com/one-tough-gut-chain-of-command-army-lists-for-the-germans-in-italy/ View this object Infantry in Castiglione on the Volturno Line, November 1943
