Is the M60A3 TTS Going to be in the TOE?  Apparently it was more capable than the earliest M1s, but it's pretty close to the end of the time period:

"The procurement of M60A3 and M60A3 TTS tanks for the Army concluded and hull production ceased in May 1983"

Man I'm excited to see this game!  :D

Yup!

At minute 2:33 those are T80Bs, distinguishable by the turret basket on the left side and the missile guidance box mounted in front of the commander's station. People always wanted to see T80 in the game, though I suspect they were expecting the 1985 T80U. Still, T80's got a [turbine] engine and just FLIES across the landscape!

Sooooo... who here still has a device that produces the wobbly blue screen that appears just after the Battlefront logo?  I know I do!  And someday I'll get Spinal Tap on DVD so I can retire it :D

Hey if you hold onto it a bit longer and keep it in working order, you might be able to sell it for a good chunk of cash to some millennial antique collector! Hopefully he understands that it goes up to 11...

My personal favorite Soviet tank is the T-80BV, followed quickly by the T-64A. But I know many (myself certainly included) have been hoping and begging to see the T-80 in a CM game, and now we finally have it!

Still have one on every TV in the house and my 22 and 17 year old daughters not only know how to work them, they actually utilize them once in a while.

Lol... That "turban" engine: is it the mid-east export version? ;) :)

T64s, T80s, oh, my. A very different matchup for the US when they're fielding M60s. This is not your CMSF shootout.

And, gotta say, the vcr intro is great. I'd forgotten the whirling sounds they'd make. (Be kind, and rewind.)

Great video!

Hi,

congratulations.. it is a great video🙂!

Favourite CM setting. The tech balance is perfect between electronics and heavy metal. Also the armies were very much real. Plus interesting to play out "what could have been..." with such a high quality wargame/simulation.  The ultimate tactical wargame in my very bias opinion!

All the best,

kip.

I've still got a VCR.  Beta was superior (once the bugs got fixed.)  As a musician, I appreciate the ease and convenience of digital, but I started out on 1/4 inch tape.  Sounds better, but is harder and more unforgiving to work with.

Oh boy howdy, does that bring back some memories for this cold war veteran who stood on the line in Germany ready to face the "evil empire" (Salute to Ronnie Regan)"

Great video! Covered a lot of the new material in a concise and entertaining way. Haven't heard a load up and start of a VHS machine in years! Felt like I was watching a Camcorder tape that some news crew had submitted of the build up during the saber rattling and commencement of hostilities.

Like a previous post I totally loved the music. But my first guess was Jan Hammer of Miami Vice fame because of the heavy drum beat. Tangerine Dream as I remember was more "ethereal". Either one will have to be playing in the background when I commence to playing this. If my brother allows me to dig into his cassette tape collection "museum" and borrow his ghetto blaster.

I keep seeing the topic head 'Promo video' and reading it as 'Porno video',

What's the difference?

More of a T-80U man myself:

Hopefully we'll see a few more varieties in a few more of the games.  B)

Hell if Steve & Co. were feeling expansive enough we could even have 'em in CM:SF2, Yemen has them.....Just the thing for the inevitable counter-offensive to Riyadh!  :P
