UK Time

Quote

75 Years On – Shropshire Soldiers on D-Day – This talk is not a history of D Day: It is a description of the day as experienced by four Shropshire men who landed on Sword Beach at ten past ten on the morning of D Day with X Company 2nd Battalion The King’s Shropshire Light Infantry and found themselves as darkness fell further inland than almost any other troops who had landed that morning, British, Canadian or American. The story is told mostly in their own words and illustrated where possible by photographs taken on Sword Beach on the day.
