sound mod question! overwrite or replace?

Recommended Posts

For mods that you want to overwrite with new mods, put the DESIRED MODS into the Mod folder and name it with at least one "Z" at the start of the name eg:  "Z DESIRED MODS".

Note that the more "Z's" one adds to the beginning of the name, the later they will be loaded - ie: "ZZ NAME" will overwrite anything in a mod folder that has a name that begins with fewer "Z's" eg will overwrite mods in "Z NAME".

It’s just alphanumeric order for loading, nothing special about Z.

If you are using a “Z” folder in “Data” for mods (this is no longer necessary in Battlefront releases, but may again be necessary (perhaps temporarily) in the Steam release) or the “Mods” folder in the Documents / CM whatever / UserData folder (this is where meant to go in current Battlefront releases), then anything in those folders will be loaded in alpha-numeric order.  So if you have “Sound Mod A” and “Sound Mod B” and both contain the same sound file, then the file in Sound Mod B will be loaded last overwriting the same file in Sound Mod B.  Would work the same with “Sound Mod A1” and “Sound Mod A2”, etc.
