Considering all the assistance he provides for other users and the degree he communicates stuff within the confines allowed I think that is a grossly unfair representation of his participation in this forum.

Indeed, I believe I concentrated all the BS I've seen into Ian here. Sorry for that.

What is that? :P

Steve has posted before on this, they know and appreciate their customer base is a niche market. Though selling more product than they expect is always a good thing they also know roughly the budget they have to work with.

<Economist hat on and a quick google search because it's my lunch break and I'm lazy> In economics, productivity refers to how much output can be produced with a given set of inputs. Productivity increases when more output is produced with the same amount of inputs or when the same amount of output is produced with less inputs. <Hat off>

Never assume having more people on staff means you will produce more. Anyone who's worked for an organisation with 100+ workers and a dedicated Human Resources team knows this first hand. :P

:D

As someone who's literally facing (my office space faces theirs) a third 'office manager', nothing wrong with the person in question, managing the 'office' of some 25+ people inside on a lucky day, I felt sympathy to this comment. Now don't get me started on our HR manager. 😀

I doubt either Charles or Steve is interested in spending more time in people management.

Yeah, remember that from all appearances they'd like to have fun at their jobs as well as to be able to make a living at it. I seriously doubt that they are the kind of people who would be willing to be chained to a desk grinding out mediocre games for a large audience of mostly meatheads, even if that got them into a higher tax bracket.

part of the equation of staffing is the addressable market.  If BF adds more people, will it lead to more customers?  Will the market grow?  Yes, they will get new stuff out faster can they go fast enough to pay all the new people if the market size is relatively fixed?

'My Little Pony' iphone rollplay game for Japanese schoolgirls.

Good news for Emrys! He'll have an alternate outlet for his cartoon pony porn now that Tumblr's banned him. Seems he's too deviant even for the deviants!

I'd take a tight dedicated team over an overbloated schlock factory, any day of the week. Star Citizen is a great case study on how hiring a massive amount of people for a niche product does not reduce market time. In fact, quite the inverse. I think BFC does pretty well in a world where most big budget titles are barely-functional shells that exist only to sell skins and lootboxes.

Honestly...I don't understand why requests/suggestions for strenthening the BFC line-up has to be so vastely exagerated every time...

No one is suggestion that BFC should hire "a massive amount of people"...and perhaps move their office to some Manhattan penthouse.

One...or perhaps a few more guys will be a nice step in the right direction...No need for a massive migration 😎.

That being said...I understand that the economic side of things has to be taken into account...If they can't afford more people...they can't...unfortunatelly

but when they can It will indeed be very welcome news to hear... that BFC are strenthening their manpower...It would be a good thing !!

It's a god damn shame that not more people are buying these games...What's wrong with them ?  😉 Why don't they understand that this is the best tactical game avaliable...uummpf, uumpf..

AFAIK they haven't been sitting still with regards to staff over the period that I play CM / frequent the forums. And then there is always Brooks's law to account for :D. Edit: Of course I wouldn't mind getting more stuff sooner too! But that's easier said then done.

Sorry more seriously it is true the OP did not suggest anything particularly radical. But the first response wasn't really vastly exaggerated either. Just funny :D

100% true. What is wrong with people. Heck I follow GrogHeads and those people aren't very serious about war games either. I mean there is tuns of talk about GTA and other very not war game like games. Note - clearly some are - not trying to tar everyone with the same brush. :)

“Patience is a Virtue”

I recently listened to a news report that said how societies are becoming less “virtuous” because many have no patience. The study attributes it to our modern “conveniences” such as cell phones, laptops, tablets, computers, and most importantly, the internet. “We’ve” (notice the apostrophe that indicate this is a contraction for we have) become so used to instant gratification, that we get stressed when we have to wait for a stop light to change, or for a walk light to cross the street. I grew up in a time when the F-51 Mustang and F-4U Corsair were still front line fighters, and the P-9 Panther and F-86 were developing jet fighter tactics in the Korean conflict. If you wanted to read the “latest” book, you walked or rode your bike to the library. I was a teenager when jet-powered commercial flights became viable for the masses, so we developed patience. I remember setting for one or two hours, patiently untangling a bird’s (notice in this case, the apostrophe indicates possession, the nest of the bird) nest tangle in my fishing line because the the only alternative was to cut the line and lose half my line (as an impatient person would do) that would mean that I’d have to buy a new line, which I couldn’t afford.

What has this rambling have to do with the thread? The BFC staff and owners are patient. They are not rushing pell mell to create content for sale, not caring if that content is correct, accurate, or as free from bugs as possible. While we are all free to “suggest”changes and “improvements” to the BFC business model, NONE of us know anything about the specifics of their decisions. “We” are nothing more than the children who constantly whine “Are we there yet?”

Take a break, sit back, and play a scenario that you haven’t played yet. BE VIRTUOUS!

A previous poster sardonically questioned some word usages;

Loose - the opposite of tight (My trousers are so loose that they fell down in the middle of the mall.)

Lose - the opposite of win, or to misplace something (I hope the New York Yankees lose the next game to the Boston Red Sox. They might if Mookie Betts doesn’t lose his edge)

Whose - generally used as a possessive for a group (The council, whose responsibility is to manage ....)

Who’s - possessive for an individual (That loose woman who’s dog peed on my trousers on the floor of the mall ....), or the contraction for “who is” (who’s going?)

While a spellchecker can be a buddy (I actually consider it a crutch for the lazy), a dictionary is your best friend. I was a technical writer for more than 30 years, and used a dictionary for that entire time, unless I knew that the spellchecker was correct.

Corrected two spellcheck errors that changed my “were” to “we’re.” Be careful, it’s a spellchecker jungle out there!

I tried to interest a guy on Youtube a couple days ago (he had a video about his Marx WWII play set) so I figured hey CM is toy soldiers all the way. Dude pretty much completely ignored the part of the conversation that involved links and info on the game. I was like WTF?! That's right up your alley, man!

Had another guy tell me he wasn't really interested in CM when I brought it up because the engine was getting old. This statement was posted under his video about the update of John Tiller's Panzer Battles. I didn't even bother to respond after that ironically moronic statement.

I guess I must be getting old. Earlier today I sat and marveled at the fact I'd just turned a lamp on and it produced light. LOL. I think I got lost in thinking about it for about five minutes. I find being truly thankful for the (seemingly) tiny things enriches your life just as much as something like a new car or a vacation can. There's a quote of mine I have been repeating for about 20 years now: "Give me a brand new Bic mechanical pencil and a clean sheet of paper and I am happy". If you can find joy and contentment in the little things you'll always appreciate what you have and not worry about what you don't.

Very well said Vet 0369

That is basically how I looked at this thread.

We live at a time where there is people that have no patience and all of their thoughts are self centered.

So this thread is a perfect example of that.

Person likes the game, wants more of the game and is not getting more of the game fast enough for their personal wants. - Thus there must be a problem and that problem must be from the source of who makes the game. They need and must do it faster.

Never in the process of their thinking is there a care or concern about that source or how it would impact that, the thought is focused on getting more faster, nothing else.

Never does the thought cross their mind that the method presently being used is what is already creating the thing they enjoy so much.

They have no respect for the efforts of others if it does not meet their perceived needs.

The sad thing is, their view does impact things and how people view this company.

But what is even more sad, I am sure this trait is impacting their life in more aspects than what we see here. I am sure their frustration  with life is constant.
