That reminds me, I'll have to mention in the manual that me & the Sarge have left the actual CMSF2 temples/mosques in the mod... however only for certain building sizes.

Yeah, as per the post on the previous page, I have given that scenario an H&E conversion.

Although I think I will try making my own map... as not only will it help to avoid me "burning out" with all the modding but also better undertsand what scenario/map creators might need.

I found some interesting resources...

-A clickable map of 1965 Vietnam.

Although it's not particuarly detailed... For instance, Ap Bac is (I believe) the unamed hamlet between Ap Tan Hiep & Ap Tan Thai slightly NE of Khiem Ich (Cai Lay).

-A large list of more detailed Topographical maps, including the area I was looking for Bong Son...

This is a plantation on my Ap Bac map that @37mm posted images of a couple of days ago.

Yeah, skins 11, 12, 13 & 14 come with 'colonial' roof textures.

I've made some changes to the modpack based on this map-making attempt, so it's certainly been a productive exercise.

Either way, there's no mistaking this map for Syria!

Pertaining to our conversation in the other thread about moving Black Sea's mdr files into SF2. Here's a test I just did moving CMBN's mdrs and textures into SF. It was a quick check and I didn't rename anything etc. You get the sloped roofs without doing any model work. The flat roof textures ended up on the peaks but I didn't bother delving deeper into what needed to be renamed (or if it's even possible) to get the BN roof texture to show. There's still  at least one flat roof present, which could come in handy, or be renamed to get the slope.

Anyway, something to consider when you go back to the Euroscape mod. Might be less work if the roof textures are a simple renaming of bmps.

It's definately possible... as we've got CMFI roof textures to show by simple renaming.

Sarge uses them for his Colonial buildings, I've also used them in the cities.

Additionally, the 'Chimneyless huts' you've been seeing for a few months just use alpha channels (& a few other bits & bobs) on top of those roof textures... at the time they were made we weren't even considering the blender techniques.

The strangest oddity we have with the roof swapping is the bizarre "generic roof damage texture" issue which me & the Sarge mentioned here.
