db_zero
I just gt a new SSD drive so reinstalled all my Combat Missions. I had PBEM games in RT and BS so I had to upgrade back to ver 4.0 as that what we started the games on. After reading all the comments on Fortress Italy I'm just going to stay on Ver 3.0 for CMFI\Gustav Line I'm now on ver 3.0 for CMBN and have all the add ons. Does ver 4.0 on CM Normandy have the same behavior that is causing a lot of comments in Italy? Mainly infantry fleeing to easily and running back and forth?

Swant
Yes it does, however it is not as gamebraking as in CMFI. In CMFI campaigns you are mostly attacking fortified defenders over open ground. In v3 you need alot of artillery to keep the defenders pinned or laying smokescreens. In v4 you can clear every foxhole with just a few mortar rounds, making the missions way to easy. Artillery is not as important in CMBN, however I still think v3 gives a much better gameplay.
StieliAlpha
What I would recommend, is save your V3 (which is fairly simple) and install V4 in addition. Then you can compare and decide what you like best, as well as play both PBEM.

There are additional features in CM 4 you don't get in CM 3 so it isn't quite as simple saying one aspect determines what is better. There are trade offs.
