John Kettler
Just saw a thread about Russian recon units, and in the playlist for the suggested ZVEZDA YT channel, I found this. offers a radical new take on Christmas lights! Msta-B in winter. Note remarkable elevation limiters. Regards, John Kettler Edited December 8, 2016 by John Kettler
John Kettler
After watching the Msta-B video and reflecting upon it, I realized the gun crews seem awfully small. Is this some sort of stress test simulating casualties? I ask this because the nearest US equivalent, the M777 155mm Ultra Light Weight Howitzer, has a standard crew of 8 and a reduced crew of 5. (Watches video again) Never mind. The numbers are comparable, but you only see most of the crew when repositioning the gun. At most, the gun is being directly worked by three men in much of the video. John Kettler
antaress73, I recognized the Krasnopol, and I believe the target was on a plinth like they use for war memorial tanks and such. Here's Copperhead. Carl Schwamberg's (retired Redleg) observations regarding Copperhead over on the Armchair General Forum are most informative. I had no idea it was that bad and in so many ways. Nor did I know it ever saw combat. Regards, John Kettler Edited December 10, 2016 by John Kettler
