John Kettler
Just finished watching this remarkable 2014 film about three Australians in the Great War: two brothers and a nephew. This is war writ extra ugly, fought with real savagery, but it is a story of a family bond, a cattle station town before and during the war and much else. There are some major technical issues from the standpoint of rifle use and volume of artillery fire, but overall, it's not only an impressive war movie but an impressive movie. Period. The story is is compelling. This film is well cast, with the characters all sharply drawn, well acted, seems to sharply define life in Australia then, shows things at the sharp end in several meanings of the term and has a great soundtrack, too. It warms the heart, chills the marrow, raises the hackles, and that's only part of it. Am interested in what Forumites from Down Under and nearby have to say about this motion picture. Michael Emrys
Hmmm, just searched Netflix for this and they don't have it. Do you know when this movie was released? Michael
John Kettler
Michael Emrys, I said 2014 in the first sentence. A search using "william kelly's war full movie" will bring up a number of places to watch it online.
