antaress73 Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 (edited) Hi, is this modelled in the game ? https://russianmilitaryphotos.wordpress.com/2012/03/22/the-l370-5-president-s-countermeasures-suite/ It COULD drastically reduce stinger's effectiveness against russian helos and low altitude fixed wing aircrafts making the lack of robust ground AA on the US side even more acute . panzersaurkrautwerfer Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 I think it'd cut both ways considering the state of western counter measures suites. I imagine it's always somewhat abstracted in. 0 Quote

I know from gameplay experience that Russia/Ukrainian/American helicopters and planes do have some kind of self-defense equipment modelled in. For example, during a short match 3 Ukrainian MANPADS were fired at my Kamov gunship helicopter and it wasn't destroyed. IIRC it also displays some attitude status info in the unit card but I cannot remember what exactly it wrote. :/ So yeah, though it might not exactly be the President-S. 0 Quote
Sublime Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Ya the status is evading. Ive seen F15s and NATO aircraft doing this as well. I dont think it means anything russian centric rather i think its flares and or chaff and maybe the ecm jammer on. 0 Quote
L0ckAndL0ad Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 (edited) A-10C has equipment equivalent to above mentioned President-S. It is called AN/AAR-47 MWS. It is also used on transport aircraft (I've heard about C-17 and Ospreys), but I don't know the details. Edited June 1, 2016 by L0ckAndL0ad 0 Quote
