db_zero
I was looking at Mission Building for DCS World videos and stumbled on this by accident. While not really applicable to Clack Sea and Combat mission-save for maybe a few concepts, these are some very interesting and well done videos that would probably appeal to anyone who is interested and plays Black Sea. Just got to youtube and type "oe tsc g&v" into the search. Here are just a few of the videos you can view.
Erwin
Interesting. Most applicable to CMSF given the open LOS and desert environment. The other videos are also a great reminder of how inf needs to move in certain formations for certain tasks. Unfortunately, the dispersion recommended not possible with current CM2 engine. One can see how and why CM2 casualties can be so severe. Edited May 29, 2016 by Erwin
John Kettler
db_zero, I previously posted the squad training videos from the same people. I've seen the one you posted and, though I can't recollect where, blistered the stupidity of the defensive scheme which, among other things, utterly fails to use the high ground and has no camouflage or alternate firing positions, either. All Red has to do to prevent the breach as detailed is to knock out a couple of the specialist tanks, whereupon the entire attack collapses, potentially exposing the now massed Abrams to a lot of punishing fire. I could do terrible things with a couple of ATGM launchers firing down, an FO team calling down Krasnopol and some EFP mines buried but oriented to fire sideways when triggered. Another fun trick would be to call down scatterable mines behind the mine plow tanks. I'd be willing to bet I could wreck the breeching operation without the mines, too. Kinophile
The proximity of the Abrams to one another seems a little Command & Conquer.

Sublime
No but the breach video was definitely watched by me ebfore abt 3 or 4 mnths ago. It was a link of a link of a link of a link that started with dcs uh1h fm radio homing or summat. All this said I have to say unless the graphics settings really really really change the nature of DCS i have to say I almost feel it was... editted or beefed up with some editing because in some ways it looks a little too groundwargare centric and 'right' for a DCS battle. And Ive also never seen a bridgelayer abrams in DCS. Imo dcs world has a great future and combined arms looks cool. That said i presently have doubts about some.damage modelling ( see French missile debacle when Razbam released the Mirage 2k) and in my own experience using a10s and su25s. Of course mavericks and clusterbombs usually do it but the dumb bombs are definitely off. Also though infantry is represented which is a boon and im sure eventually will be expanded - and rhat im running on the prolly lowest speed comp that can handle the game- dcs for now and at least the next couple years is great for flying helos and planes. Ground combat and strategy is best left to CM. I also understand why the modules are so expensive but if they all were 25 or 30 id probably own all of them and have spent more money. But the favt each plane is 50 or 60 except a couple and during sales is intimidating and makes you really think. That said I wish Id never bought the KA50 2nd version) and instead goten the gazelle now or hip then if itt had to be a helo. If i coulda bought anything instead of it a German ww2 plane ( id stayed away from the ww2 stuff and only.gone modern until the p51 which i fell in love with and DCS really doesnt cater to ww2) or the mirage maybe. The F5 looks awesome. The sabre would have been a stronger contender for me.. mig 15 summat but id rather a sabre esp since i have the 21. Anyways sorry to get so off topic about a flight sim guys. panzersaurkrautwerfer
Here's the super-sexy VHS 1990 version for those of you who like retro stuff: One of my instructors uploaded it for MCCC. The tactics haven't changed much, although some of the equipment has changed (engineers are now in Bradleys obviously vs M113s, ABV has taken over the CEV's position etc).

Its an older version of virtual battlespace (ARMA 1) engine not DCS
Sublime
Ahhh ok thanks. That helps clarify things some. It does look pretty close to dcs as it is now does it not?
Stagler
Yeah its very similar looking. You can tell the difference between the infantry/dismounts though.
db_zero
I heard this was made by the "government " version of virtual battlespace. There is a civilian version and one used by the military that is "very expensive" idk much about either. Diverging OT I also stumbled on the new Steel Beast 4.0 that is supposed to be released in June. I'm definitely looking forward to that!

Ya the DCS infantry really needs work done. Too jerky. Theyre getting there though. I mean really theyve invested a lot in ground forces for what became a flight sim. My kingdom for a super fast computer and a grand to waste on games and modules.
