Hello, this is another part of my mods sound, this time in version 2.2

it will add it to the http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/

I have a request to the players for feedback and suggestions. (what they like and what does not, what can be changed or improved)

What's New?

- 912 NEW! the sounds of the highest quality (total 2974)

- German voices (434 sounds) NEW!

- British voices (256 sounds) NEW!

- Improved and additional voices American, Russian, Polish and Italian (147 new sounds)

- 15 new ambient sounds - (day and night) Winter, spring, summer and autumn (three kinds of wind and rain, and two types of fog) - all are tagged - just set the scenario for October / September and runs ambient autumn - and when choose the scenario in April, starts ambien .......... spring, and so on.

- The mass of new sounds and improved eg. The engine shutdown, zips, ricochets, the incoming artillery, explosions, Penetrations, hits, soldier movement, etc.

and of course, lots of bug fixes and improvements.

What is HQS 2.2?

It's a huge modification for all parts of the CM series of World War II - replaces 90% sounds (explosions, weapons, sounds, etc.) - with the best quality (and quantity) greatly increases the immersion in the game.

I'm talking about the cannons and machine guns in the background. In HQS 2.1 there was a background light option. Can I somehow use that option for this version?

Unfortunately, in this version there is no such option
but this is not a problem, when the fight begins, the game engine mutes the ambient.

Unfortunately, I can not add the file to "greenasjade" so I give a link to the revised version. (fixed some bugs).

Thanks waclaw. I always use your sound mods.  They are great.  Not sure if I did something wrong when I downloaded and un-zipped this HQS2.2.  The file looks different from other ones I have downloaded from you.  After un-zipping the other sound mods have always been the yellow folder with more yellow folders inside labeled for the various sounds.

However when I unzipped HQS 2.2 it unzipped to a single white file that reads packed.brz 1.15GB  I tried using winzip to further unzip or (unpack?) the file but no luck.  Is HQS2.2 suppose to be a .brz file after unzipping?  Or my guess .......... I did something wrong.................

EDIT: Or maybe I should just change the name from packed.brz to HQS 2.2.brz and then put it in my Z folder?

2 EDIT: Okay, it is suppose to be a .brz  No problem.  Great mod.

OK thanks, I found it on my HDD....reason why I never installed it was a) it had an odd name (packed.brz) and b) being weary of it I wanted to first check exactly what files were in the brz file but never got round to finding out how to extract/look.

How do you inspect/extract a brz file?

Lt. Bull, use the Mod Tools in the game's root folder. All CMx2 titles have it, and it is the same tool so you don't have to use, say the CMBN tool only for CMBN .brz's...you could use the one in CMRT for BN's brz's, for example.  You take the brz, put it in the Input (?...been a while, but I think that's the name of the folder), it does a little magic/hootchey-koo/science and then an "exploded" folder appears and the game files are in there. Have fun!
