Col Deadmarsh Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 I have a Green company HQ that was issued a radio but for some reason they aren't under command of the Battalion HQ like the other HQs because they can't / won't use their radio for communication when they're out of visual and audio contact. The command line is dark from them to the Battalion.Any idea why this is? 0 Quote
womble Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 How long has this been going on? Units per radio contact while moving, and there is an amount of unreliability built in to the system. I don't have any evidence one way or the other, but it's certainly conceivable that lower experience elements suffer more radio downtime. 0 Quote
RockinHarry Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 (edited) What Womble said.If non moving, usually radio contact would be established within 1-2 minutes or less.Something worth to know, if that particular Coy HQ is a direct subordinate to that mentioned Bn HQ or maybe a seperate unit, which has it´s own Bn HQ off map (effectively deleted from the OOB). Something like that comes when i.e purchasing a tank Bn and an Inf. Bn, but then deleting one Bn HQ from one the formations. Just an idea...Ok, Bn HQ is superior and on map. Suppression levels and unit state also plays a role sometimes. Edited January 20, 2016 by RockinHarry 0 Quote

Just a thought: Is the commanding officer of the company still alive? And is the company HQ showing heavy suppression? 0 Quote
RockinHarry Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Lost radios can be looted from their dead operators btw. Leads to sometimes odd unit inventories, with the looting unit able to have more than 1-2 binocs and more than 1 radio, if it already had one previously (an intact Plt. or Coy HQ doing the looting). 0 Quote
