kohlenklau
Hey, I am taking a road trip with my son Ben (age 15) headed out of central Texas and we will go see the National WW2 Museum in New Orleans <and then on east to NASA, etc.>. Arriving 19 July late and seeing the museum on Monday 20 July, departing 21 July. Anybody around that area want to have a face to face hello for a drink or lunch or see the museum? PM me or holler back here! Phil
fabishdFGM
Sounds like a great trip. My first duty station was Fort Polk, LA. However my wife and I never made it to New Orleans, LA. Have fun with your son.
kohlenklau
Thanks Doug! We're gonna spend the whole dang day there. We'll do this special "USS TANG submarine mission interactive thing" where you are a crewmember and have to do stuff. We'll read EVERY freaking display. And see a special Tom Hanks movie. Compared to a Bayeux, France D-Day museum I went to way back in '94 with my newlywed wife. She stayed out in the rental car. I came out after 90 minutes and she was not thrilled when I said I was just checking on her!

Cool presentation, very modern! Edited July 14, 2015 by Bud_B
kohlenklau
Bud, maybe that is one reason you are still married to Christine but I am divorced?
kohlenklau
Excellent museum. No enemy armor but a decent collection of us stuff.
