canuck97
Hi there, I just bought Red Thunder and like to install a sound mod (for weapons and vehicles). For CMBN and CMFI I've found several sound mods and put one together for myself which I'm using in both games. However especially the weapons in CMFI and CMBN are all in all the same (US/Axis) whereas CMRT should have some complete new ones (Soviet). So can anyone recommend or even link a nice complete sound mod (maybe one for weapons and one vor vehicles)? I haven't found any in the repository which includes the "new" soviet weapons. Thanks you in advance!
Oddball_E8
Sure, mine is "complete".http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods/5300/details You'll need patch 2 and 3 as well: http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods/5384/details http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods/5383/details Patch 1 is included in patch 3. Waclaws mod is also "complete".http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods/5172/details Edited January 1, 2015 by Oddball_E8
canuck97
Thank you Oddball for your reply. I'd like to try the linked mods. However, I'm not able to download them without an account I guess? Sorry if it has been mentioned anywhere but how do I get access to those files? Thank you again.
Oddball_E8
Well... you get an account It's not hard to do. There should be a button for it somewhere. The login button is at the very bottom of the page IIRC, so you might try looking there.

I already wrote an email to the listed adress but haven't received any answer yet. So I think I might just have to wait until someone gets me an account?
canuck97
Oh man, I just found the button. But it's really REALLY hidden and only visible via the main page (should be a link in the FAQ section at least). Anyway, thank you for your help
Oddball_E8
Heh, yeah, the layout of the site leaves alot to be wanted. But IIRC the guy running it now is not the one who designed it, so it's due for an update I think.
Reiter
I am using HQS 1.05. Any other cool mods out there?
Oddball_E8
I am using HQS 1.05. Any other cool mods out there? Well... there's mine... I don't think there are many other comprehensive soundmods out there. There's a few that only mod some of the small-arms sounds, but nothing as encompassing as mine and waclaws.
Hister
Yeah, I'm using yours Odball for this title and also for CMBN together with voice packs. Sound mods selection in CMBN is wider indeed.

True, but even there it's just me and waclaw that's done comprehensive mods I think. Most other mods are either just small arms or vehicles or some other narrow part of the sound mod spectrum. :/

These 3 below are comprehensive in their own right: Sound AstroCat_Sound_Mod_Comp_V2 Sound CMBN SFX COMPILATION Sound SFX_1.2.5

CMBN SFX COMPILATION is just a compilation of my soundmod, waclaw's soundmod, JorgeMC's soundmod and SFX 1.2.5. SFX 1.25 does not include any of the sounds for CMRT. (although it IS comprehensive for CMBN, that's true. I just haven't looked at it before and the low filesize fooled me into thinking it wasn't comprehensive)Astro Cat has a very comprehensive soundmod though. Don't know why I forgot that one. Been a loooong time since he made that one though, IIRC. EDIT: Well, it wasn't that long ago actually... march 2014... And I had a good long interaction with him in his thread about it too... don't know why on earth I forgot his mod Edited January 8, 2015 by Oddball_E8
